How does Fear Of God originate?

Fear of God was created by Jerry Manuel's son, Jerry Lorenzo Manuel. During his father's job, which sent him from school to school across America, Lorenzo was exposed to the various cultures that now inspire his fashion brand. After graduating with an MBA, an actress inspired his interest in sports, and he planned to become a sports agen``t. In the nightlife industry, he noticed a gap: only hip-hop, techno, or celebrities' parties. He decided to become a party promoter to bridge the gap between all three. Essentials clothing was born, bridging the gap between luxury fashion and streetwear.

Why Is It Called Fear of God?

To this day, Lorenzo's Faith remains one of his greatest influences, and that's why the brand is called Fear of God. Aside from baseball and Metallica, Lorenzo's brand is a physical representation of his interests. Lorenzo places a high value on God. Lorenzo realizes that the name 'Fear of God' symbolizes both the strength of his faith today as well as the struggles he faced growing up.
